Information on Privacy
Cartageo guarantees maximum confidentiality regarding customers’ personal data and full observance of the obligations stated in the legislative decree 196/2003 and in subsequent modifications and/or riders.
In accordance with section 13 of the aforementioned decree with its provisions concerning personal data protection, the customer’s personal data will be processed, using computer science and telematic procedures with the aid of third parties connected with the company’s administration, solely for purposes appertaining to dealing with orders and, subject to explicit agreement, to sending, by post or by e-mail, information regarding goods marketed by Cartageo (new products, special offers etc.).
The phrase "for purposes appertaining to dealing with orders" means, in particular, all functions connected with, and instrumental to, processing purchase orders, such as information technology system management, payments control, consignment management and dealing with complaints. By filling in the "digital order form", the customer declares that he has acknowledged the information regarding privacy and declares his consent to the communication of his personal data and to the processing of the same for the purposes and by the parties indicated in the paragraph on information, and that he is aware that, without this consent, the order can not be processed.
In short, it is reaffirmed that, in accordance with section 7, the customer has the right to obtain confirmation as to whether personal data, albeit not yet registered, regarding him exist or not, and also has the right that these data be communicated intelligibly. Furthermore, he has the right to obtain information concerning:
a) the origin of the personal data;
b) the purposes and the processing methods;
c) the logic applied in the case of processing with electronic instruments;
d) the company owner’s identification data.
The customer has the right to:
a) the updating, rectification or, when in his interest, the integration of the data;
b) the erasing, the changing into an anonymous form or the blocking of data processed in breach of the law, including data which it is not necessary to keep in connection with the aims for which the data have been collected or subsequently processed;
c) documentary evidence that the operations referred to in a) and in b), including their contents, have been brought to the attention of those to whom the data have been communicated or released, except when this proves impossible or involves a utilisation of means which is manifestly disproportionate to the right that is protected.
The customer has the right to object, totally or partially:
a) to the processing of his personal data for legitimate reasons, even though relevant to the aims of the data collection;
b) to the processing of his personal data in order to send publicity material or direct sales or for market research or commercial communications.
In accordance with article 4, paragraph 1, letter d) of the legislative decree 196/2003, in no circumstances will a customer’s sensitive data be processed by Cartageo, (sensitive data refer to “personal data which reveal racial and ethnic origins, religious, philosophical or other beliefs, political views, membership of political parties, trade unions, religious, philosophical, political or trade union associations or organisations, as well as personal data which reveal a state of health or details regarding sexual activity”).
